Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you currently accepting new clients?
Individual therapy is currently full — I have a waitlist. Reach out and I'll let you know as soon as something opens up.
The Focused Therapy Series and The Clarity Series are both available now with no wait. If you're looking for shorter, more focused work, either one is a good place to start.
Psychological evaluation referrals are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
I don't accept insurance — it's private pay only. Individual therapy is $275 a session. The Focused Therapy Series is $750 for three sessions, and The Clarity Series is $1,200 for five sessions.
I can put together a superbill if you want to try for out-of-network reimbursement — just ask. What you get back depends on your plan, so worth checking directly with your insurer.
Q: Are sessions in person or online?
All sessions are done via secure telehealth using Doxy.me — no downloads needed, just click a link from your phone, tablet, or computer. Sessions are 50 minutes.
I'm based on Long Island, New York, and licensed in both New York and Florida. If you're in either state, we're good to go.
Q: How do I get started?
The first step is a free 15-minute phone call — a chance to connect, talk through what you're looking for, and make sure we're a good fit before committing to anything.
Reach out through the contact form on this site or send an email directly. I'll get back to you quickly to set something up.
Q: What can I expect in a first session?
The first session is about getting to know you — your history, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping for. It's also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether this feels like the right fit.
There's no pressure to share everything at once. We move at your pace from the very beginning.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, there's a $150 fee.
Life happens though — if something urgent comes up, just reach out and we'll figure it out.
Q: Do you offer sessions in other languages?
Yes — I'm fluent in Russian and happy to work in Russian with clients who find it easier to think and feel in their first language. Just mention it when you reach out.
Q: Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions is confidential. There are a small number of exceptions where I may be required to break confidentiality — primarily if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else. I'll go over these with you at the start so there are no surprises.
Q: What is a psychological evaluation and what does the process look like?
A psychological evaluation is a focused assessment done for a specific reason — for example, as part of the clearance process for fertility treatment or bariatric surgery, or in connection with a workers' compensation or no-fault insurance claim.
It usually involves a clinical interview and, depending on the referral, some standardized assessment tools. Everything is done via telehealth and I try to make it as clear and comfortable as possible. Reports go to the referring party within 5–7 business days.
If you have questions about what to expect, just reach out — I'm happy to walk you through it.
Q: I'm not sure if therapy is right for me. Can I still reach out?
Absolutely. That uncertainty is one of the most common reasons people reach out first. The free 15-minute call is designed for exactly this — no commitment, no pressure, just a conversation.
